Customer display
Show customers their cart, the total, a QR code to pay and a thank-you with their receipt — on a second monitor or a tablet facing them.
A customer display is a screen that faces the customer. While you ring up, it shows each item with its price, the discounts and the total. When you charge, it shows the amount to pay, the change, and your QR code to pay. After the sale it says thank you and shows a QR code for the receipt. When no sale is open, it shows your logo, a welcome message or a slideshow of your offers. The customer display is on the Plus plan and up.
You can use it two ways:
| What you need | |
|---|---|
| Second monitor | A computer with two screens, using LiteShop in the browser (Chrome or Edge) or the Windows app |
| Tablet or phone | Any tablet or phone with a browser, next to the register. No sign-in on it |
#Second monitor
- Connect the second monitor and turn it to face the customer.
- In Checkout, tap ⋮ at the top of the cart, then Customer display. (Owners can also use Settings → Customer display.)
- Tap Open on a second screen.
- Chrome and Edge may ask to Manage windows on all your displays — tap Allow. LiteShop then moves the window to the other monitor by itself. If you don't allow it, the window opens next to LiteShop: drag it to the other monitor.
- Click once on the display window and press F11 (or the settings button in its corner → Full screen).
The window gets the cart straight from the register on the same computer — it works even without internet. Keep the register's tab open.
#Tablet or phone
Any tablet or phone can be the display. Put it on a stand facing the customer and keep it charging.
- On the tablet, open the browser and go to pos.liteshop.app/#/display. Don't sign in.
- It shows Pair this screen and a 6-digit code.
- Pair it from the register (see Pairing).
- From now on, the tablet shows that register's cart. It keeps the screen on while the page is open.
#Pairing
Pairing links a tablet or phone to one register (the computer or phone you sell on). Owners and managers can pair.
- On the register that the display should follow, tap ⋮ → Customer display → Pair a display. (Or Settings → Customer display → Pair a display on that device.)
- Type the 6-digit code from the tablet. You can give the display a name, for example "Counter tablet".
- Tap Pair. The tablet changes from the code to your shop's screen.
The code works for 10 minutes and only once; the tablet shows a new code when it expires. After 10 wrong codes in an hour, pairing waits for the next hour.
To stop a display: Settings → Customer display → All paired displays → Unpair. The tablet goes back to a new pairing code. On the tablet itself: the settings button in the corner → Unpair this screen. A display that no register used for 30 days is unpaired by itself.
#What customers see
| When | The display shows |
|---|---|
| No sale open | Your logo and welcome message, or the slideshow |
| Ringing up | Each item, quantity and price (weighed items like 0.750 kg × 4,500 MMK), line discounts, the discounts, tax and the big total, and how much the customer saves |
| Charge screen | The amount to pay; with cash, what the customer gave and the change; with QR Payment, your QR code and the amount |
| After payment | Thank you, what the customer paid (cash given, like Paid 5,000 MMK) and the change, what is On credit or to Pay on delivery, and a QR code the customer scans for their receipt |
| Send to customer | The payment link as a QR code the customer scans to pay on their phone |
The display never shows costs, profit, staff names, notes, gift card numbers or other customers.
Choose in Settings → Customer display → What customers see:
- Show our QR code to pay — the QR codes come from Settings → Payments. Only owners and managers can change them, so nobody at the register can show a different QR.
- Show the customer's name — "Hi, Ko Aung" when a customer is added to the sale. Other people in line can see it, so it is off at first.
- Thank-you screen — how long the thank-you stays (5 to 60 seconds).
- Theme — dark or light.
- Language — the same as the register, English or Myanmar. Each display can also pick its own language from its settings button.
#Ask customer
Let customers type their own phone number, name and email on the display instead of spelling them out at the counter.
- In Checkout, under the customer, tap Ask customer. The register shows Waiting for the customer… and a 2-minute timer. Tap Cancel to stop.
- The display shows a big form: Phone number (with its own number keys, in Myanmar or English digits), Your name, Email me the receipt (Pro, optional) and Join our membership / collect points (only when you have membership tiers or points). The customer ticks the agreement line and taps Send — or Skip / Cancel.
- The register adds the customer to the sale: the customer with the same phone number (
09…,+959…and Myanmar digits are the same number), or a new customer. A saved name or email is only filled in when it was empty; if it is different, you see it and choose Use typed name / Use typed email. - Check what was typed under the customer. Edit fixes a typo, Undo puts back the customer you had before. Then charge as usual: the membership discount and points work like when you pick the customer yourself, and with an email the receipt is emailed after the sale (Pro).
| Second monitor | Tablet or phone | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs internet | No — works offline | Yes — the register shows The tablet display needs the internet when it can't ask |
| Where the answer goes | Straight to this register's browser tab | To this register only, through LiteShop's server |
When the display greets the customer by name (Show the customer's name), it uses the name they typed.
#Slideshow
When no sale is open, the display shows your logo and welcome message. Add slides to show offers, new products or your Facebook page one after another.
- Open Settings → Customer display → Slideshow.
- Tap Upload next to Logo (a square picture looks best).
- Tap Welcome message to change "Welcome!".
- Tap Add slide, add a picture and/or a title and text, then Save. You can add up to 10 slides.
- Choose how long each picture shows in Each picture shows for.
Use ⋮ on a slide to move it up or down or to delete it. Pictures are shown to anyone who has the display open, so don't put private information in them.
#Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The display says Disconnected — reconnecting… | The tablet lost the internet. Check its Wi-Fi; it reconnects by itself and then shows the cart again |
| The display says Waiting for the register… | The register hasn't sent anything for a few minutes. Open Checkout on the register; check the register's internet |
| The display shows a new pairing code | It was unpaired (or unused for 30 days). Pair it again |
| "That code is not right" | Check the 6 digits on the display; the code changes every 10 minutes |
| The second screen window doesn't open | Allow pop-ups for pos.liteshop.app, then try again. In the Windows app it opens in your browser |
| The QR to pay doesn't show | Turn on Show our QR code to pay, choose QR Payment on the charge screen, and check that the QR code is switched on in Settings → Payments |
| Ask customer is greyed out | Open a display first (second screen or a paired tablet). A tablet needs the internet on the register and the tablet |
| The tablet form says No internet on this screen | Check the tablet's Wi-Fi, or ask the customer to tell you their details |
| The screen turns off | Keep the display page open and the tablet charging; some tablets also need a longer Screen timeout in their own settings |
