Receipt printers
Print receipts on Bluetooth, network and Windows COM port printers, print automatically after each sale, and open the cash drawer.
LiteShop prints receipts on small thermal receipt printers (58 mm or 80 mm paper) that use ESC/POS commands — almost every shop receipt printer does. Each device has its own printer: set it up on every phone, tablet or PC that prints.
Open Settings, then Receipts & printers. In Receipt printer, tap the first row to choose how this device connects:
| Connection | Works in | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth printer | LiteShop Android app | Small 58 mm / 80 mm Bluetooth printers |
| Bluetooth printer (browser) | Chrome on Android or a computer | Bluetooth LE printers, without installing the app |
| Network printer (Wi-Fi / LAN) | Android and Windows apps | Printers with Wi-Fi or a network cable |
| COM port printer (Windows) | Windows app | Bluetooth printers paired in Windows |
| Print dialog (PDF) | Everywhere | Any printer installed on the device, or saving a PDF |
Receipts with Myanmar text print as a picture, so they look the same as in the app. The receipt link QR code prints at the bottom.
The same printer also prints the repair claim slip (Print claim slip), the repair tag when you don't use label printing, and the small Layaway payment receipt (Take more payments).
#Bluetooth printer on Android
When to use: you sell on an Android phone or tablet with a small Bluetooth receipt printer.
- Switch the printer on. Charge it if the light blinks.
- Open Settings, then Receipts & printers, then tap Receipt printer.
- Choose Bluetooth printer.
- The first time, tap Allow Bluetooth and then Allow. LiteShop only uses this to print.
- If Bluetooth is off, tap Turn on Bluetooth.
- Tap your printer under Paired devices. If it is not there, tap Search for printers and tap it under Nearby devices. Android asks to pair: tap Pair. If it asks for a PIN, try
0000or1234. - Tap Save, then Test print.
The test receipt has English text, a Myanmar line and a QR code. If all three print clearly, the printer is ready.
#Bluetooth printer in the browser
Chrome can talk to Bluetooth LE printers directly from pos.liteshop.app.
When to use: you use LiteShop in Chrome (Android phone, Windows PC, Mac or Chromebook) and your printer supports Bluetooth LE.
- Switch the printer on.
- Open Settings, then Receipts & printers, then tap Receipt printer.
- Choose Bluetooth printer (browser).
- Tap Choose printer. Chrome shows nearby Bluetooth devices. Pick your printer and tap Pair.
- Tap Save, then Test print.
After you reload the page or restart the browser, Chrome may need you to choose the printer again: tap Reconnect in Receipts & printers.
#Printers on Windows
The Windows app can print in two ways.
Bluetooth printer through a COM port
- Switch the printer on.
- In Windows, open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Add device → Bluetooth, and pair the printer (PIN often
0000or1234). - Windows gives the printer two COM ports. To see which one is Outgoing, open More Bluetooth settings → COM Ports.
- In LiteShop, open Settings → Receipts & printers → Receipt printer.
- Choose COM port printer (Windows), then pick the outgoing port, for example
COM5. - Tap Save, then Test print.
If the test does not print, try the other COM port of the same printer.
USB printer with a Windows driver
- Install the printer's Windows driver and print a Windows test page.
- In LiteShop, choose Print dialog (PDF).
- When you print a receipt, pick the receipt printer in the print window.
#Network printer
When to use: your printer has Wi-Fi or a network cable, and you use the LiteShop Android or Windows app.
- Connect the printer to the same Wi-Fi or network as this device.
- Find the printer's IP address: most printers print it when you hold the FEED button while switching them on.
- Open Settings → Receipts & printers → Receipt printer.
- Choose Network printer (Wi-Fi / LAN).
- Type the Printer IP address, for example
192.168.1.50. The Port is usually9100. - Tap Save, then Test print.
#Print automatically after each sale
When to use: you want every sale's receipt without tapping Print.
- Open Settings → Receipts & printers.
- Turn on Print automatically after each sale.
- Choose Copies: 1, 2 or 3 receipts per sale (for example one for the customer and one for the shop).
It is off at first. The setting is saved on this device only, so each register can decide.
If the printer is off or out of range, the sale is still saved. A message Printer not connected appears with Retry and Settings. You can also print the receipt later from Transactions.
#Cash drawer
A cash drawer plugged into the receipt printer (cable into the printer's drawer socket, often marked DK) opens when the printer tells it to.
- Open Settings → Receipts & printers.
- Turn on Open cash drawer after cash sales.
- Tap Open drawer to check it.
The drawer opens only for sales paid (fully or partly) in cash, not for QR or card payments. It works with Bluetooth, network and COM port printers.
#Paper width
- Open Settings → Receipts & printers.
- In Paper width, choose 58 mm (small printers, 32 characters a line) or 80 mm (48 characters).
Choose Other to type another width for PDF receipts, for example 72. Thermal printers still use 58 or 80 mm.
Print text as image prints every receipt as a picture. Leave it off: receipts with Myanmar text already print as a picture, and English-only receipts print faster as text.
To add your logo, your own text or QR codes to the receipt, see Receipt design.
#Printer problems
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Bluetooth is off | Turn Bluetooth on, then tap Retry or Test print. |
| Allow LiteShop to use Bluetooth | Tap Allow Bluetooth. If nothing appears, open Android Settings → Apps → LiteShop → Permissions → Nearby devices → Allow. |
| Search for printers finds nothing | Switch the printer on and keep it close. On Android 11 and older, also turn on Location (only needed to search; paired printers work without it). Or pair the printer in Android Settings → Bluetooth first. |
| The printer did not answer | Switch the printer off and on, check the paper, and keep it within a few metres. |
| Printer not found | Pair it again, then choose it again in Receipt printer. |
| Tap Reconnect… (browser) | Tap Reconnect in Receipts & printers and pick the printer. |
| Strange characters | Choose the right Paper width. Try Print text as image. |
| Myanmar text missing | Receipts with Myanmar text print as a picture. Very old printers without image support print nothing for those lines: use another printer. |
| QR code missing | Some very cheap printers cannot print QR codes. The short link under it still prints. |
| Nothing works | Use Print dialog (PDF) for now and send us the printer model. |
#Tested printers
These common printers use ESC/POS and are expected to work. We add a ✓ after a model is tested with LiteShop.
| Printer | Connection | Paper |
|---|---|---|
| Xprinter XP-P300 / XP-58IIH | Bluetooth / USB | 58 mm |
| Xprinter XP-Q890K / XP-N160II | Network, USB | 80 mm |
| Goojprt PT-210, MPT-II | Bluetooth | 58 mm |
| Rongta RPP02N / RPP300 | Bluetooth | 58 mm / 80 mm |
| MUNBYN / HPRT portable printers | Bluetooth | 58 mm |
| Epson TM-T82 / TM-T20 | Network, USB | 80 mm |
Your printer is not listed? It probably works if its box or manual says ESC/POS. Do a Test print and tell us the model.
