Barcode labels

Give items barcodes, then print price labels on A4 sticker sheets or a label printer — also right after you receive stock.

On this page

Print price labels with a barcode for the items on your shelves. Scanning a label at checkout adds the item, like a factory barcode. Barcode labels are on the Plus plan and up.

Open Items, tap the ⋮ menu, then Print labels. Or open one item and tap Print labels. Inventory → Labels & import has the same button.

#Give items a barcode

Many items have no barcode: things you pack yourself, loose goods, old stock. LiteShop can give each one its own barcode.

  1. Open Items, tap ⋮, then Generate missing barcodes.
  2. The list shows every item (or variant) without a barcode, ticked. Untick the ones you don't want.
  3. Next to each one you see the code it will get.
  4. Tap Give … barcodes.

The codes are EAN-13 barcodes that start with 20 — the range shops use for their own codes. LiteShop counts them up on the server, so two phones can never give the same code, and it skips any code an item already uses. Any barcode scanner reads them.

#Label sizes and what is printed

In the label panel:

  1. Add items with Add items (search, tick several, Add). Use − and + to set how many labels each item gets.
  2. Choose the Label size.
  3. Under On each label, tick what to print: shop name, item name, variant, price, price per kg, barcode, barcode numbers, SKU, expiry date.
  4. Check the Preview, then tap Print (or Share PDF).

Owners and managers can tap Save as default: the size and the chosen fields open next time. Add your own sizes in Settings → Receipts & printers → Barcode labels → Add size.

Items without a barcode print their SKU as a Code 128 barcode — the register finds items by SKU too.

#A4 sticker sheets

Built-in sheets (A4, sold in stationery shops):

SizeLabels per sheetOne label
A4 3 × 82470 × 37 mm
A4 4 × 104052.5 × 29.7 mm
A4 3 × 72170 × 42.3 mm
A4 5 × 136538.1 × 21.2 mm

Sheets print as a PDF: tap Print and choose your printer, with paper size A4 and scale 100% (not "fit to page").

Used a sheet before? Type how many stickers are gone in Skip used stickers. Counting goes left to right, top to bottom: 5 means the first row of a 3-across sheet and two of the second row.

#Label printers

Rolls of 40 × 30, 50 × 30 and 58 × 40 mm labels print on a thermal printer. Under Print with:

  • Print dialog — one label per page as a PDF, for any printer that has a driver.
  • Receipt printer — an ESC/POS image on the printer set up in Settings → Receipts & printers (Bluetooth, network, COM port).
  • Label printer — TSPL commands for TSC and Xprinter label printers (XP-360B, XP-365B, XP-420B, XP-470B…) and Gprinter, on the same printer setting.

Choose Printer resolution 203 dpi (most printers) or 300 dpi. Set the printer to label mode with gap paper.

#Labels after receiving stock

When you save a purchase (Items → ⋮ → Record purchase) or receive a purchase order (Inventory → Purchase orders → Receive), LiteShop asks Print labels for these items? Tap Print labels: the label panel opens with one label for each unit received (one per line for items sold by weight). Change the numbers if you need fewer.
