Daily report
Close the day with one tap (or automatically at a set time) and get one report with sales, refunds, payments, credit, expenses, cash drawers, top items and low stock; share it as an image or PDF.
At the end of the day you want one page that says how the day went. Close day adds everything up for a shop: sales, refunds, payments by method, money on credit, expenses, the cash drawer count, best sellers and low stock. The numbers are the same as Reports → Sales for that day.
The daily report is on every plan. Owners and managers can close the day and see the reports.
#Close the day
When to use: when the shop closes, or any time you want today's numbers in one report.
- Open Reports (or Cash drawer).
- Tap Close day.
- Check the shop and tap Close day again.
The report opens. Nothing is locked: you can keep selling, and tap Close again later to rebuild the report with the newest sales. The report shows how many times it was closed.
#Close automatically
When to use: so the report is ready every evening, even when nobody remembers to close the day.
- Open Settings → Business.
- Under Daily report, turn on Close … automatically for the shop.
- Tap Close time and pick the time, for example 9:00 PM.
Every day at that time (your business time zone) LiteShop closes the day, and Alerts shows Daily report for … is ready. If you closed the day by hand earlier, the automatic close rebuilds it so the whole day is in it.
A close time earlier than the start of your business day (see below), for example 2:00 AM when the day starts at 4:00 AM, closes the day before, the next morning. A close time of midnight closes the day that just ended.
#Shops open past midnight
When to use: your shop sells after midnight, and you want those late sales in the evening's report, not in the next day's.
- Open Settings → Business.
- Under Daily report, pick Business day starts at, for example 4:00 AM.
Each day then runs from 4:00 AM to 4:00 AM the next day (your business time zone). A sale at 1:30 AM on the 16th counts for the 15th, and Close day at 1:30 AM closes the 15th. Reports uses the same day for Today, Yesterday and the other periods on every tab (Sales, Profit, Stock, Credit, Receivables and Staff), and so do accounting exports and Business finance (its daily sales, debt payments and costs; after a change it re-cuts its days within a few minutes). On the Staff tab a shift counts whole on the business day it started.
The default is midnight: each report is one calendar day.
#What is in the report
- Sales: gross sales, discounts, refunds (on the day they were given), net sales, tax, tips, cost of goods and gross profit. Voided sales don't count.
- Payments: money taken per payment method (cash, QR, card …) minus money given back.
- Credit sales: what customers bought on credit today, and debts they paid back. Money customers still owe you is a receivable (see the glossary).
- Receivables & payables: what customers owe you and what you owe suppliers when the report was made ("As of …"), not at the end of the day.
- Layaway payments and Repair deposits: money customers paid on layaways and repair jobs that day, with what was paid back and the layaway cancellation fees kept. They are customer deposits, not sales. They show in the Deposits section of the report, in the text summary (Copy text) and in the Telegram daily report. See Layaway and repair deposits.
- Expenses recorded for the shop that day.
- Cash drawer: each drawer ended that day, with expected and counted cash and the difference.
- Top items (up to 10, by money) and Low stock (items at or under their alert level, as of when the report was made). Items sold by weight show the weight sold, for example Rice · 12.350 kg, never the number of weighings; items sold by the piece show the count, for example Tea ×9.
#Share the report
On the report page, tap Share (the share icon at the top), then:
- Share image sends a picture of the report (for example to Viber or Telegram);
- Share PDF makes a printable PDF;
- Copy text copies a short text summary to paste into a chat.
Myanmar text is drawn correctly in the image and the PDF.
#Past reports
The report page lists the shop's last 60 reports under Past reports (on phones tap Past reports at the top). Tap a day to open it. To see another shop, pick it at the top. To open (or close) any other day, tap Pick a day.
A note with Close again appears on a past report only when closing it again would really change it:
- the report was made by an older version of LiteShop, before the Where the money is and Receivables & payables sections existed, or
- it counts the day from another hour than your Business day starts at setting now.
Otherwise there is nothing to refresh. Closing an old day again also reads stock and what is owed as they are now, not as they were that day.
