Find your problem below. Each answer has short steps you can try first.

#The camera doesn't open

LiteShop needs camera permission to scan barcodes and take photos. If you said no once, the phone remembers it.

When to use: when you see Camera permission is off, Camera is busy or Camera could not start.

In a web browser (Chrome)

  1. Tap the icon at the left of the web address.
  2. Open Permissions.
  3. Allow Camera.
  4. If it is still blocked, open the phone Settings > Apps > Chrome and allow Camera.
  5. Go back to LiteShop and tap Try again.

In the Android app

  1. Open the phone Settings > Apps > LiteShop.
  2. Tap Permissions.
  3. Allow Camera.
  4. Go back to LiteShop and tap Try again.

#Photos or item pictures don't show

Photos load from the internet. A slow or missing connection is the most common reason.

When to use: when item pictures are blank, or you see QR photo can't load. Check the internet.

  1. Check that the phone or PC is online. Open another website to test.
  2. Wait a few seconds. Big photos load slowly on mobile data.
  3. Reload the web app, or close and reopen the app.
  4. If only one photo is missing, open the item and add the photo again.

#Windows says "Windows protected your PC"

Windows shows this for new apps that it doesn't know yet. It is normal for the LiteShop installer from liteshop.app.

When to use: when you open LiteShop Setup on Windows.

  1. Check that you downloaded the file from https://liteshop.app/download.
  2. Click More info.
  3. Click Run anyway.

See Windows for the full install steps.

#Android blocks the install

Android installs apps from outside Google Play only when you allow it.

When to use: when Android says the install is blocked, or LiteShop shows Allow LiteShop to install updates.

First install

  1. When Android asks, tap Settings.
  2. Turn on Allow from this source for Chrome.
  3. Go back and tap Install.

Updates

  1. On Allow LiteShop to install updates, tap Open settings.
  2. Turn on Allow from this source.
  3. Go back and tap Install update.

Android always asks you to confirm each update. See Android.

#Sales are waiting to sync

When the internet drops, LiteShop keeps selling and saves the sales on this device. A bar shows how many are waiting to sync.

When to use: when you see Offline — sales are saved on this device or a number waiting to sync.

  1. Connect the device to the internet.
  2. Keep LiteShop open. The sales send by themselves, oldest first.
  3. To check, tap your initials (the account menu), then Sync status.
  4. If a change could not sync, tap Review and follow the message.

More help: Sync status and Offline limits.

#Sign-in problems

Most sign-in problems come from a blocked popup or the wrong account.

When to use: when Continue with Google does nothing, shows an error, or opens an empty shop.

Nothing happens when I tap Continue with Google

  1. Allow popups for pos.liteshop.app in your browser.
  2. Open LiteShop in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Brave. Don't use the browser inside Facebook, Messenger or Viber.
  3. Try again.

I see "Create your LiteShop space" but my shop exists

You signed in with a different account.

  1. Don't create a new business.
  2. Tap your initials, then Sign out. If you don't see the menu, reload the page.
  3. Sign in with the account you used before.

I don't see my invitation

  1. Check that the owner typed the same email as your Google account.
  2. Ask the owner to tap Resend in Settings > Team.
  3. Sign out and sign in again.

Windows app

The sign-in opens in your web browser. Finish there, then come back to LiteShop. If you closed the browser, tap Cancel sign-in and start again.

#The printer doesn't print

LiteShop prints to Bluetooth, network and Windows COM port receipt printers (ESC/POS). When no printer is set up, or the printer doesn't answer, LiteShop opens the normal print window instead.

When to use: when receipts don't print, or you see Printer not connected.

  1. Turn the printer on and check that it has paper.
  2. Bluetooth printers: turn Bluetooth on and keep the printer close. Network printers: connect the printer and the phone or PC to the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Open Settings > Receipts & printers and check the Receipt printer row: it shows the printer and Connected or Not connected.
  4. Tap Test print.

The message under the printer row says what to do. All answers: Printer problems.

#Myanmar text shows as boxes

LiteShop uses Myanmar Unicode. Boxes or broken letters usually come from an old app version or Zawgyi text.

When to use: when Myanmar text shows as boxes, or letters look mixed up.

  1. Update LiteShop, or reload the web app. See Updates.
  2. If names you typed look broken, your keyboard may use Zawgyi. Switch to a Unicode Myanmar keyboard, such as Gboard Myanmar.
  3. Type those names again.
  4. To change the app language, see Language.

#The app says I reached a limit

Your plan has a limit, for example 1,000 items or 2 staff on Free. Nothing you already have is deleted or stops selling.

  1. Open Settings → Plan and look at the bars under usage.
  2. Remove what you don't need (for example turn off an old discount), or
  3. Tap Upgrade and choose a bigger plan. See Upgrade.

#What do "Receivable" and "Payable" mean?

  • Receivable · They owe you: money customers (and later delivery companies) still owe you, for example sales on credit.
  • Payable · You owe: money you still owe, for example to suppliers for purchases on credit.
  • Net: receivable minus payable.

Receipts speak to the customer, so the same balance shows there as You owe now. See the glossary and Receivables & payables.

#Layaway, instalments or invoice — which one?

  • Layaway: the customer pays a deposit, you keep the items and they collect when it is fully paid. See Layaway.
  • Instalments: the customer takes the item today and pays every month on a schedule. See Instalments.
  • Invoice: the customer takes the items today and pays the whole amount by a date. See Invoices.

With instalments and invoices the customer owes you (a receivable). With a layaway you hold the customer's money (a deposit).

#Why are layaway payments and repair deposits not in my sales?

They are the customer's money until they collect their things. The sale counts on the day of the hand-over (layaway) or the collection (repair), with the payment method Layaway or Repair deposit, so the money is never counted twice. Until then you see them apart, for example under Where the money is and in the daily report. See Layaway and repair deposits.

#I can't find Repairs

Repairs is off until you turn it on.

  1. Open Settings → Features.
  2. Turn on Repairs & service.

Repairs then appears in the menu (on phones: More), and Settings gets a Repairs category. See Turn Repairs on.
